The price of the Surface Hub has been a major limiting factor for small businesses, with the base model starting from $8999 which comes with 50.5 inch 4k display.
Google is targeting the segment that Microsoft has ignored, with its new all in one chromebase Google is allowing business to effortlessly conduct office conference with upto 25 callers out of the box through Google hangout and 50 callers if you are a Gsuite user.
The two new Chromebase from acer feature an all in one setup with 5-mp wide angle webcam and 24 inch Full HD display to offer best video experience to its user. The Chromebase 24I2 is powered by 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U processor, 8GB DDR4 RAM, and a 128GB SSD. It’s lesser sibling the Acer Chromebase for Meetings 24V2 is powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8550U processor, 4GB DDR4 RAM, and a 32GB SSD.
Both the models feature Full HD 1920×1080 IPS narrow bezel touch display which is anti-glare and capable of tilting between -5 and 25 degrees. Connectivity ports include a USB 3.1 Type-C connector, four USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, HDMI, SD card reader, and RJ45 ports for lag-free video conferencing. The entry level model will reportedly cost $999 and will launched sometime this summer. As the recent commits in the chromium projects suggest the chromebase will support eight processors for the OEM to use in their designs and it is also expected other OEM to join this bandwagon with new chromebase launches.
